...Ouch. =x That person is just...awful.
And yes, always ask for at least half upfront. =x
That way, they already have some stake in it and it is in their best interest for you to to a good job.

Don't worry.

At least you know that yes, you do have to take deposit. No matter what you think of a person, know or not -> Ask for deposit.

For the case of your sanity.

:iconhaartufs:
I must agree, that guy is an asshole.
But, (Oh, god I'm gonna sound like an asshole myself now) you should've done some more work on a contract or whatever before jumping into it. Just set a deal of some sort involving what will happen if it turns out he doesn't like it, etc etc. A lot of people are assholes, don't gamble on wether or not your clients are.

</no>

A contract would need a lawyer though? It would have kind of been pointless if there wasn't anything to back up the contract. What i definitely should have gotten was that deposit.:/
Sigh... Thanks for the comment..:)

Interesting, how the people that actually know what happened are banned from commenting here. I am glad that you've found sympathy with online strangers, seeing as you're getting none from the people you talk to in real life.

And you don't need a lawyer to write a contract, only if there is later dispute about the contract and you take it to court.

If found please return to *Celenai

I'm not looking for sympathy. I ended up laughing at your immaturity in the conversation after i posted it up. And anyway, the final piece was worth putting up. Oh, that PERSON didn't actually know what happened because I didn't bother telling them anything.
Oh, the many more people i know are definitely siding me. But of course, why would they talk to you about it? It's funny how you think you know what happens in my life, even if you don't know whats happening in your own. :)
Bye bye!

i'll agree with the fact that the reference photo was a bit difficult to work off of and you did do a pretty good job with replicating it, and he should appreciate the effort you put in.

but i agree with Gary that that isn't a painting. and you can't really get mad at him for not liking what you made, that doesn't mean he thinks your a bad artist or anything, he just doesn't like this particular piece.

I have no idea what's going on.
:iconasenceana:
By ';painting' what do you mean tho? Digital or traditional?
He wanted a digital one
