Artist's Comments

My art exam piece, mixed media. This was based on boundaries...i chose something along the lines of:
Boundaries>;Perspective(Viewpoints and such- what where the boundaries of how you saw something?/How far can you see?)> Trees lol (Just because i'm into nature/never really did anything about trees before/and because i could easily get photos :3/ and they looked pretty at a myspace angle if you chose a good, twisting tree. And i saw many a good, twisting tree around the field at school)
This took 12 hours over 3 days- the time we were given for the exam.
This actually turned out reaaaally fantasyish- very misty and wondrous and moody as well as beautiful and mystical if i do say so myself.
I wanted to have more texture at the parts of the tree that were closer to you so you could see more of the magnitude and perspective. As the tree gets further away there is less texture but it's also keeping a vibrancy so your eye is led upwards.
I used screen printing, acrylics and texture paste. Oh and water-based gold paint. And lots and lots of sponges used in a technique i will not reveal. It is easy, but i will still not reveal it. Its not the way you'd commonly use it either^^ Oh and some steel wool. Painful stuff, but good for texture.
Lots and lots of patience.

I should have drank some powerade.

This is really pretty *__*, and the colors are lovely. Great texture on the bottom by the way.

"And Saint Attila raised the hand grenade up on high,
saying, 'Oh, Lord, bless this thy hand grenade that with it thou
mayest blow thy enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy.' And the Lord did grin, and people did feast upon the lambs, and sloths, and carp"

Thanks! It's much better in real life:) I wanted to have more texture at the parts of the tree that were closer to you so you could see more of the magnitude and perspective. As the tree gets further away there is less texture but it's also keeping a vibrancy so your eye is led upwards.

And a Heaven in a wild flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand,
And Eternity in an hour
